Alfie is a versatile and distinctively humorous after dinner speaker, presenter and comedy writer with his niche area as a serving police sergeant. A natural and truly charismatic raconteur, his thrilling insights into life at the front-line of the police force will not only alter your perspective on the ‘boys in blue’ but have you in fits of laughter!
Alfie came slightly later to comedy and brings a wealth of insights and comedy moments from his eighteen years on the beat, where a keen sense of humour has been the key to his success and survival! Born and raised on a council estate in Sheffield he was an engineering apprentice in the steelworks before joining the Police.
Alfie has found that walking the beat and dealing with everyday incidents has generated a host of humorous stories that you ‘just couldn’t make up’. He has three times written and performed his own one-man show for the full 22+ night run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival . His new show ‘Alfie Moore – I Predicted A Riot’ toured nationally during 2012 prior to its performance at the Pleasance Courtyard, at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2012.
Alfie has an observational comedic style, which lends itself to witty, and sometimes gritty, anecdotes based on everyday modern policing. This ability to present everyday issues in a comedic way led to a commission from an NHS Trust to develop and deliver material to raise awareness of issues about men’s health.
Alfie has also featured in ITV1′s Show Me The Funny, BBC 3′s Bizarre Crime, Channel 5 The Wright Stuff, The Guardian, Independent on Sunday, BBC Radio 4 Today Programme & Life: An Idiot’s Guide with Stephen K Amos, BBC World Service, Radio 5 Live and Sky Motoring. He is currently writing a comedy pilot for BBC Radio 4.
